In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, dating has been transformed into a chore, something we do on an app while waiting at a stoplight. Dating is supposed to lead us to the person we spend the rest of our lives with and with whom we have children, yet we give it as much care and attention as placing an order for a fast food burger. The high divorce rate, dating apps and dating websites – which have done nothing to make dating or marriages more stable or satisfying – show that we need to take a step back. Maybe take a step back to a few decades or even, centuries, ago and revive dating traditions of the past.
